NS .. I am huge fan of Winwood, Capaldi, Clapton etc ( as I am Small Faces, Dylan, Paul Simon, Wilson etc ) .... but they all produced somebody turkeys and some indulgances ... it’s far too simple to be anti McCartney and forget the classics too

Leroy, I was working in the main stadium in 2012 running cables and installing PC's so the world could see the thing - thank me later! - and Macca played that closing ceremony thing a number of times while I was in there and it sounded nothing like it did when it went on the night. There were huge technical difficulties that night and Mc couldn't hear the rest of his band (that wasn't MY fault btw :) ). I'd also like to mention the fact he played a blistering set for the 'people working in the stadium' for over an hour just for the joy of it. Top bloke.
Oh and by the way for those naysayers elsewhere. Play 'Love Me Do' and then compare it to what else was happening in 1962. Then you'll understand. And if you don't then go away and do something else because you've obviously no feel for pop music.

Leroy ... there were timing and technical issues at the Olympics Opening Ceremony which is much publicised ... try basing assessment on a full concert where his value for money is twice that of his peers. But I guess you have made your mind up already ....
